Men's Sex Addiction Groups are part of a holistic approach to treating sex addiction that utilizes Dr. Patrick Carne's Task Model of recovery. This approach is research driven and appears to correlate with a high degree of long-term sobriety, 97% according to Dr. Carne's research. This approach supplies important direction and structure to the healing process.

There are 7 tasks that the recovering person must complete in order to maintain sobriety. These tasks provide the foundation for the rest of recovery.
These these tasks can be found in a workbook, Facing The Shadow. Along with this workbook, a Recovery Start Kit is used to facilitate the first 130 days of recovery, a critical period of time for the recovering person. These materials are then used, along with a 12 step group and a men's sex addiction recovery group (Men New To Recovery).
